Let me start this post by saying this. I. Hate. Framing. 🖼

Its annoying, nerve-wracking, time consuming and very stressful 😅 It comes with so much to think about. What frame shall I buy? Shall I mount the artwork? What glass type is best? Will it hang on a wall or stand on a shelf? What I choose might not be to everyone's taste 🤷🏻‍♀️

Then there's the equipment you need to do it, a cutting mat, a straight edge heavy ruler, maybe a guillotine, a sharp cutting knife and a microfiber cloth to clean the glass. If you're mounting you need special acid free mounting tape so it's strong enough to hold the test of time and so it doesn't warp or discolour the edge of the picture.

Its a lot. And every time I do it I say I'm never going to do it again 🙈 But in the end, after all the self-doubt and questioning my choices, it's worth it in the end for those pieces I choose to showcase in frames. Take for example the 3 limited edition prints I have on display at The George, 'Boundless', 'Moonlight' and 'Rise', they look great in their black frames in that setting. In this instance it was worth the 2 hours it took to frame them, yes I'm a control freak! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Which brings me to this... You'll notice that most of my work is for sale unframed. This is for two reasons. Number 1 being all of the stress from what I've mentioned here 😂 but also to keep costs down for you. Framing is expensive, and in reality most people will inevitably change the frames to suit their own homes and taste. So I don't use expensive frames for this reason and I don't factor the cost into my pricing; If I'm selling something framed, the frame isn't what you're paying for, you're paying for my Art. And that, is what I think is most important 👩🏻‍🎨
